The West Bath Public Schools Board of Directors completed its organizational business at the November meeting by electing Cassandra Worth as board chair and Joan as vice chair, approving minutes from the Oct. 16 meeting, and adopting standing committee assignments for 2024–25.
Board members nominated Cassandra Worth for chair and voted by voice/hand to approve the nomination. After the vote, Worth offered brief remarks thanking outgoing members and welcoming returning members. The board then nominated and approved Joan as vice chair.
The board approved the consent items that included payroll and accounts‑payable warrants and the Oct. 16 minutes, each by voice vote. Members then reviewed standing committee assignments: facilities (Joan and Nate), finance (Mr. Weir and the chair), policy (Cassandra Worth and another member), wellness (Joanne and Nathan) and a new ad hoc tuition‑agreement committee to be chaired by the board chair and another member.
The board moved and approved the committee list as presented. Members discussed responsibilities for signing warrants, anticipated time commitments for committee work and the need to remain accessible for routine administrative tasks.
Next steps: committee rosters will be reflected in board records for 2024–25 and the ad hoc tuition‑agreement committee will begin gathering information if the board proceeds with the town‑meeting timetable discussed elsewhere in the meeting.
