Residents urge Select Board not to revisit defeated Public Safety Building vote

Seth Perry of Linebrook Road told the Board that revisiting the project through a Special Town Meeting would "undermine public participation and confidence in local government." He urged the Board to respect the results of the votes and suggested future efforts focus on a combined school and public safety facility.
Chub Whitten of Argilla Road said he supported holding a Special Town Meeting to reconsider the matter and said he was surprised a hand count was not done following the close vote at Town Meeting. Chair Charles Surpitski told speakers the matter would not be discussed further that evening but would likely be revisited at a future meeting.
The comments were recorded during the citizen queries portion of the May 20 agenda; the Board did not take action on the Public Safety Building that night.
