Sherborn task force reviews community survey, plans working session and a presentation on Transfer Station oversight

At its June 1 meeting the Sherborn Governance Task Force III reviewed survey responses (200 completed to date), agreed to hold a working session on committee structure, and recommended inviting Nora Lynch Smith to present an assessment of Transfer Station oversight at a future meeting.
Ms. Rellas presented results of the SGTF III community survey at the June 1 meeting, saying 200 residents had completed the survey so far. The task force recorded that the survey will remain open for several more weeks and that the group will promote it on NextDoor, Sherborn Facebook pages, the Council on Aging and other town resident groups.
Task force members discussed holding a working session to review the structure and operations of both appointed and elected committees in Sherborn and to consider improvements in function and efficiency. The minutes indicate the working session is intended to help the SGTF refine governance recommendations.
Ms. Rellas also suggested that improving oversight of the town Transfer Station be included among governance ideas, and recommended inviting Nora Lynch Smith to present her assessment of Transfer Station oversight at an upcoming SGTF meeting.
The SGTF scheduled additional meetings on June 15, June 22 and June 29 to continue idea vetting and to coordinate work with the forthcoming DLS Financial Management Review. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM.
