By roll-call vote the council approved Resolution 2026-47 appointing Ryan Caparoni as Police Sergeant (motion by Councilman Fuller; second by Councilwoman Galate). During the meeting the council also swore in Arthur Scofield and Nicholas Farischon as lieutenants in the Mount Arlington Fire Department.
Councilman Fuller said the planned expansion of the fire house is intended to accommodate a ladder truck the department expects this summer; Ordinance 06-2026 was introduced the same night to appropriate $300,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund for apparatus bay expansion. No personnel details such as start dates or salaries were recorded in the minutes.
