The Yarmouth Board of Health on June 1 voted to grant late-application extensions to two organizations seeking funding through the town's Human Services Grant program.
Assistant Health Director Barry Lewis told the Board the application deadline had been May 1 and that Family Table Collaborative and VNA of Cape Cod missed that deadline and requested permission to submit late materials. Mary Craig moved to grant both organizations extensions; the motion was seconded by Laurance Venezia, DVM, and passed unanimously.
The Board also set a schedule for the next meeting on June 15 to hear all 20 Human Services Grant applicants, with a limit on each applicant's question-and-answer time to allow the Board to hear from every requestor. Lewis said the Department will provide copies of the late applications to the Board for review.
The decision does not specify award amounts or funding decisions; those will be determined after the Board reviews the applicants. The Board approved the May 28 meeting minutes earlier in the session and adjourned following other business.
