The Valley View Village Council held a series of routine votes on Sept. 9 and recorded unanimous approvals on minutes, ordinances, resolutions and finance items.
The council approved the July 8, 2025 minutes by motion (moved by Speed, seconded by Jacob Zack). It then suspended the rules and placed multiple measures on third and final reading, including:
- Ordinance 2025-9-1 (to pay certain claims for July 2025) - Ordinance 2025-9-2 (to pay certain claims for August 2025) - Ordinance 2025-9-3 (accepting a bid from Cargill, Inc. for purchase/delivery of rock/materials for the 2025-26 snow season pursuant to the joint municipal consortium; council noted a price increase compared with prior years)
All three ordinances were passed on final reading with recorded "yes" votes from each sitting councilor.
The council also adopted Resolution 2025-9-4 (accepting amounts and rates determined by the budget commission and authorizing necessary tax levies) and Resolution 2025-9-5 (requesting the county fiscal officer make tax advances for 2026), noting a drafting correction to section one in the latter ("2026" instead of "2022"). Both resolutions passed unanimously after suspension of the rules.
Finance committee actions approved by the council included:
- An addition of $25,000 to the annual purchase order for CNK Industrial Services for video inspection and sewer jetting (second half of year). - $18,000 for the 2025 Boys and Girls Basketball Program (Recreation Department). - Acceptance of a $17,940 proposal from Valley View Cement Contractors for concrete pavement and drive apron repairs on Strathmore Drive.
Votes were recorded aloud for each motion and all motions were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The meeting adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
