Indigent matters: Commissioner Phil Christensen moved to suspend Case 1127 (previously denied) until further order; Commissioner Lloyd Rasmussen seconded and the motion passed. Christensen also moved to deny Case 1205 on the basis that the applicant is not indigent and can pay the claim within five years; Rasmussen seconded and the motion passed.
Appointments and schedule: Commissioner Christensen moved to appoint Lloyd Rasmussen as Chairman and Earl Somsen as Vice-Chair for 2012; the motion passed. The board approved the 2012 county holiday schedule and moved several regular meeting dates that fell on county holidays (May 28→May 29, Oct. 8→Oct. 9, Nov. 12→Nov. 13).
Finance and minutes: The board approved payment of claims in the amount of $227,275.67 and payroll claims in the amount of $571,114.36 and approved the Dec. 12, 2011 meeting minutes as amended. The minutes record a unanimous vote on the claims and minutes approval. Clerk Veda Mascarenas also informed the board the Justice Fund is struggling and may require a transfer from the PILT fund; she will monitor the fund and notify the board if action is required.
Other motions recorded included convening an executive session pursuant to I.C. 67-2345(b) and allowing winter road maintenance access to Rocky Mountain Power and Idaho Power at the Three Mile Knoll substation; those motions were also approved.
