Taylorville mayor proclaims days honoring local students and high-school bass-fishing team

He recognized Griffin Gregory and Vinnie Verardi of Taylorville High School for finishing among the top 25 in the Illinois high-school bass-fishing regional series and proclaimed a day in their honor. The mayor also read Illinois Principal Association leadership-award proclamations for Jameson Zitler (Taylorville North Elementary), Quinn Hancock (Taylorville Memorial Elementary), Nola Burgess (Taylorville Junior High) and Matteline Lamb (Taylorville High School; absent). The mayor said recipients would be offered cake in the conference room following the meeting.
The presentations were ceremonial and no formal council action was required.
