The Huron City Commission approved a police services agreement to provide a uniformed officer for the ACT customer-appreciation event on Aug. 1 at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.
Commissioner Harvey said the contract has been used in prior years, that the city attorney reviewed the agreement and inserted a clause (Section 6) specifying that city business takes priority over contract assignments, and that officers have already signed up at the contracted rate. He recommended approval.
The commission moved and seconded approval and recorded a roll-call vote. The contract authorizes the police chief to sign; no additional staffing or cost changes were announced at the meeting.
