Mayor: $50,000 T-Mobile grant sought for disc golf; Utility Board to vote on fluorosilicic acid

At the July 8, 2025 meeting, Mayor Tony Burriss told the Trenton City Council that he and Alderwoman Jones are pursuing a non-matching $50,000 grant from T-Mobile to fund a disc golf course, four benches and water fountains. Burriss asked council members to note the opportunity and said staff are preparing the application.
Burriss also said the July 21 Utility Board meeting will include a vote to remove or retain hydrofluorosilicic acid in the city’s drinking water and emphasized it is important that all aldermen and alderwomen attend that meeting. The council schedule note: the next regular council meeting was set for July 22.
Police Chief Bill Cusson reported the department received complaints June 21–22 about fireworks being shot at other people and at police vehicles; officers contacted family members in the area and warned that "there would be charges if it did not stop," and Cusson said there were no major problems or injuries reported. During public comment, Kyle Rasberry, identified as president of the State Towing Association, thanked the police and fire departments, Alderwoman Jones and Mayor Burriss for their assistance and said "the association only had positive things to say about their time here."
