Holly Hills board ratifies sewer cleanup, approves manhole repairs contract and $91,428 in bills

The Board of Directors of the Holly Hills Water and Sanitation District met by Zoom on Aug. 21, 2024, and unanimously ratified several operational and financial actions.
During the operations and manager’s reports, Manager AJ Beckman reported a sewer backup at 3600 Carter Circle on Aug. 1, 2024 and said he contacted Servpro to clean and sanitize the affected property under the district’s “No Fault Sewer Coverage.” Following discussion, Director Thomas Thomasson moved and Director Scott Kemmeries seconded a motion to ratify authorization for Servpro to perform cleanup services; the board approved the motion unanimously.
Engineer Will Raatz presented a contract from Lucky Dog Contracting, Inc. for 2024 manhole and sewer repairs. The board ratified the contract for the 2024 sewer repairs on a motion by Director Thomasson, seconded by Director Kemmeries; the motion passed unanimously.
Accountant Mike Bakarich reviewed the accounts payable list for the period ending Aug. 21, 2024 and reported total payables of $91,428. On a motion by Director Kemmeries, seconded by Director Thomasson, the board approved payment of the accounts payable totaling $91,428 unanimously. Bakarich also reviewed unaudited financial statements for the period ending July 31, 2024; the board accepted those statements unanimously.
Attorney Timothy J. Flynn, Esq. advised the board that he will attend Denver Water’s Technical Advisory meeting in September regarding 2025 Denver Water rates. The meeting concluded with a review of accounts subject to certification for delinquency; no further action was recorded. The board adjourned with all votes recorded as unanimous.
The actions taken address immediate operational cleanup after a residential backup and advance planned sewer repairs for 2024; the district will proceed with the contracted repairs and the approved payments as recorded in the board minutes.
