Recreation Director Mikki Falcone provided multiple updates on pool operations and events at the April 8 meeting. She confirmed the pool‑house cleaning attendant, Vicky Boyer, will return for the 2025 season and reported donations of dog‑waste bag containers for the pool area and other sites.
Mikki said she is evaluating three robotic pool cleaners (Clearwater, Aqua Blue and Lesley) to reduce the need for an attendant or volunteer cleaners and to lower chemical‑cleaning costs; she is also assessing locations for a dock station and noted Alex Chase has volunteered to install electrical infrastructure if needed. The Town of Stoddard has asked whether the HLA pool can host swim lessons for town children; Mikki said she will check with the association’s insurer and emphasized the need for certified, insured instructors, parental supervision and scheduled times that do not interfere with member use. Mikki recommended the association participate in the town parade and noted volunteer repairs to pool steps and railings would be completed by Dennis Crichton. She also reported water buildup behind the pool house and said the board will plan remediation for Docks in Day on May 3.
