Garfield County School District No. 16 board approves audit, certifies mill levies and notes enrollment rise

The board, chaired by President Vincent T. Tomasulo, approved the amended agenda and then moved through action items. Chief Financial Officer Chelsey Gerard presented the preliminary audit performed by McMahan and Associates, L.L.C.; after brief questions the board voted to accept the report. The board also approved the CDE financial accreditation assurances required for FY2024 and certified the mill levies for property tax year 2024 in motions that passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
The board approved the CDE October student data collection. Gerard reported student enrollment at 1,151.1, an increase of 55 students from the 1,096 figure used in the FY2025 adopted budget. The board approved an organizational chart for the Operations Department at the same meeting.
