Brent Baker, Hunter Long and Samuel W. Stewart were sworn in as directors of the Garfield County School District No. 16 Board of Directors during the board’s regular Nov. 11 meeting at the District Administration Office in Parachute.
The board then completed its organization. A motion to elect Vincent T. Tomasulo as president carried on a 4–1 roll call vote; the minutes record Tomasulo voting no. Keith Gronewoller was elected vice president, and Samuel W. Stewart was appointed secretary/treasurer. The board also appointed Marilyn A. Mondragon as assistant secretary and Chelsey Gerard as assistant treasurer.
The changes followed the formal presentation of certificates of election and the oath of office, administered by Marilyn A. Mondragon, the district’s designated election official. The board’s reorganization establishes leadership for the coming year and assigns administrative contacts for routine board functions.
The meeting record shows votes were recorded by roll call; where recorded, motions for officer elections and appointments carried. The board adjourned the Nov. 11 meeting at 6:38 p.m.
