Medina County commissioners approve package of routine resolutions including road closures and Port Authority bond

The board also voted to act as the applicable elected representative under Ohio law and federal tax code to approve the Medina County Port Authority’s issuance of $8,755,000 in variable‑rate revenue bonds for the Altenheim Rehabilitation Facility Project. Port Authority Administrator Bethany Dentler presented that resolution, which passed on the same unanimous roll call.
Finance Director Brett Thomas presented a group of fiscal resolutions that the board approved, including amendments to appropriation measures, transfers among 2026 budget lines, creation of the Sheriff’s OCJS Body Camera Grant Fund, approval of Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Grant FY25 participation for the Medina County Drug Task Force, submission of a FY2027 Felony Delinquent Care/Reclaim grant application, authorization to purchase 7,500 gallons of regular unleaded gasoline for the Engineering Center, and allowing claims in the amount of $1,478,953.54. Thomas additionally explained and recommended a $53,158.09 reduction to the General Fund salary line for the Auditor’s Office after a long‑term employee was terminated and several intern positions were not filled; Commissioner Hambley said he concurred with that recommendation.
Human Resources Director Holly Muren presented personnel changes for employees under the jurisdiction of the commissioners; the board approved those personnel notices. County Administrator Matt Springer presented two administrative resolutions: approval of Medina County Drug Advisory Committee (MCDAC) grant funding for program year 2026–2027, and acceptance of material terms for Subdivision Settlement Participation forms consistent with a six‑remnant defendant settlement agreement; both were approved.
All motions in this series were moved by Commissioner Hambley and seconded by Commissioner Swedyk, and roll call votes showed both commissioners voting AYE on the measures recorded in the meeting minutes. The board recorded Commissioner Aaron M. Harrison as unable to attend.
