Council approves Tailgaterz catering permit with conditions for Sept. charity event

AFTON, Wyo. — The Afton Town Council on Aug. 8 approved a catering permit for Tailgaterz for a charity event scheduled for Sept. 9–10 with conditions to protect traffic flow and limit noise.
Tammy Thompson requested permission to block part of the east alley for a street dance and to use the alley for event space. The council required that one entrance to the alley remain open, that the portion used be gated and closed to traffic, and that alcoholic beverages be allowed only inside the gated east alley area. The council also required that music be turned off outside the gated area no later than 12:00 a.m.
Councilman Jason C. Inskeep moved to approve the catering permit with the stated conditions; Councilman Tom Davis seconded. Mayor Joel Neuenschwander voted in favor and the motion carried.
Town staff will coordinate permitting and enforcement of the conditions for the September event.
