Jean Richard, attorney for MorMax (operating as BJ's Wholesale Club No. 23), introduced Michael Hayes as the proposed licensed on‑premises manager and described his qualifications; the board asked about in‑store liquor display boundaries and then approved the manager appointment by oral vote.
The board reappointed incumbents across several bodies — including the Agricultural Commission, Board of Appeals, Board of Public Works, Conservation Commission, Council on Aging, Historic Commission, Waterways Management Commission, Veterans Advisory Board and special police officers — after reviewing attendance records. Some reappointments (Russells Mills Historic District) were held for the July meeting while the board gathers additional information.
The board also approved the minutes of May 11 and accepted the applicant’s withdrawal of a temporary trailer permit for 66 Main Avenue.
All routine actions were taken by motion and oral vote with the board noting one member was absent for tonight’s session.
