Afton — At its July 11 meeting the Afton Town Council ratified the 2017 Afton Street Improvement Project bid and approved a payment request tied to the town’s new storage building.
Town Administrator Jonathan Teichert asked the council to ratify the street‑improvement bid because the contract had been approved in a special meeting rather than a regular meeting; Councilman Jason C. Inskeep moved to issue the notice to proceed and approve the bid, Councilman Rick Merritt seconded and the motion carried.
Mayor Joel Neuenschwander presented a payment request from Sunrise Engineering on behalf of Munger Mountain Construction for $116,425.84 for services related to the new storage building; the council approved the payment at the mayor’s request.
Teichert also presented the financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017, and discussed revenues, expenditures and reserves. He indicated that funds have been placed in accounts for unexpended water and sewer items and for the planned purchase of a future fire truck. The council approved the consent agenda, which included minutes, business licenses, building permits and the bills against the Town for the period ending June 30, 2017.
The minutes record numerous line‑item payments (payroll, vendors, loan payments and transfers) that the council approved as part of the consent agenda; council members did not request separate votes on individual listed items during the meeting.
