"We have since just tonight received some clarification that that would extend the rental agreement," she said, and recommended proceeding with the rental listed in the council packet while preserving the option to table the matter for further vendor discussions.
During discussion, Councilor Chao asked about funding: while the council planned to use opioid‑settlement funds to pay for the rental, Chao asked whether the opioid funds remaining were sufficient and asked staff to monitor balances in the event a pivot becomes necessary. Administration acknowledged the need to track the fund balance and said council could revisit the item if the vendor situation or funding changed.
Council moved and approved Order 202663 (rental agreement for medication storage solution) by roll call, 6‑0.
