"It’s a process for ODOT that’s competitive. It’s not guaranteed that the third lane will get funded in this round, but if it is, construction will take place in 2026," Haire said, adding that other projects (the Bixby Road interchange and changes at US‑33/270 ramps) would require right‑of‑way acquisition and could take longer.
Haire and council encouraged residents to comment to ODOT District 6 during the TRAC public comment period; no formal city commitment of funds or approvals was made at the meeting. Residents asked about truck routes and warehouse traffic; staff again pointed to the separate TRAC and design processes and noted specific traffic and crossover changes that would follow construction if the lane project is funded.
