Residents press board on snow-plowing, intersections and alleged animal neglect; ACO report pending

"If in fact Animal Welfare had been contacted they would have come out and... they would have said you need to start feeding it and here's your warning," the speaker said, summarizing the ACO's stated practice for large animals.
Town staff said a written report from the Animal Control Officer would be provided and circulated to board members once it was available. The board noted the new state centralized dog-licensing system and said the town is working through transitions and training related to that system.
Board members acknowledged road-clearing concerns and said the town issued an RFP for winter-plowing contracts with modifications designed to address recurring problems; staff said the new contract language aims to require better coverage of subdivision streets and intersections.
The board did not take formal action at the meeting on the road or animal matters but asked staff to circulate the ACO's report when received and to continue enforcing winter-maintenance standards through the new procurement process.
