At its Dec. 18 meeting the Chelsea Select Board approved the consent agenda including multiple AP and payroll warrants and minutes from meetings earlier in 2024. The board also appointed Sean Spain to the planning board and ratified an annual transportation agreement with RSU for roughly $29,000 (budgeted at nearly $31,000).
Manager's reports included news of a $25,000 donation from the Steven and Citha King Foundation toward radio/communications upgrades. Staff said a vendor re-quoted the project to about $4,371 after the donation, but procurement rules typically require multiple bids. The manager asked whether the board would allow sole-sourcing; board members generally asked staff to gather additional quotes for transparency.
The board also continued a monthly review of investment policy and approved it to stand as written for the next year. The meeting concluded with routine office reports, community-event updates and adjournment at 7:32 p.m.
