Trustees declare one nuisance, authorize LED streetlight agreement and move forward on sale of Morgan Lane parcels

After the township administrator presented evidence of nuisance violations at multiple addresses, trustees debated whether all the listed properties met the nuisance threshold. One trustee said the condition at some addresses did not rise to the level of a nuisance. The board amended the draft resolution to limit the declaration to a single property at 2178 Ren Avenue and adopted the amended resolution (202454) ordering abatement; roll-call votes recorded Trustees Bow, Young and mcgurran voting yes on the amended measure.
On streetlighting, the board adopted resolution 2024 d51 to enter an outdoor LED lighting service agreement with Duke Energy and authorized the township administrator to execute the contract. Trustees said the contract had been reviewed at a prior meeting and would replace burned-out fixtures with LED lights.
Earlier in the meeting the fiscal officer opened sealed bids on township-owned parcels at the end of Morgan Lane. Bids read into the record included a $34,500 bid from Robert Burwinkle for approximately 4.193 acres and a $36,657 bid by Cody and Crystal Ponsimer; the board confirmed it will accept the highest bid and asked the township administrator to prepare the required closing documents and a cover sheet for the sale.
The trustees moved into an executive session later in the meeting to discuss personnel matters; no further legislation was scheduled when they reconvened.
