During public comment at the Oct. 16 meeting, resident Lisa Segina read a petition (28 signatories, names withheld) asking supervisors to enforce developer compliance after a rise in industrial activity near residential properties. Segina singled out Daniels Cement Plant and Lutterman excavation as examples of industrial uses intruding on residential backyards.
A letter from Linda and Gary Helman (entered into the public record) described safety risks from speeding cement trucks on Route 819, repeated nighttime noise from plant machinery, air‑quality concerns, and an asserted loss of property value. The Helmans requested mitigation measures such as fencing and asked the supervisors to represent resident interests.
Solicitor Falatovich told the meeting the township has pursued planning oversight of Daniels and expects as‑built plans to be submitted by Dec. 31, 2024. He said the township is in the middle of the planning review process and indicated the submission deadline for required plans.
The petition and letter were entered into the minutes; no regulatory enforcement action or timetable beyond the plan‑submission deadline was announced at the meeting. Residents asked the township to seek stronger mitigation and to clarify what steps would follow the planning reviews.
