Board hears sewage bypass and Crabtree feasibility update; stormwater outreach materials posted

At the Sept. 18 meeting, supervisors reported the township had pumped sewage from its pumping station over two days to avoid worsening interceptor problems downstream in White Valley; FTMSA performed the bypass work and township officials said the pumping station and lines themselves have no mechanical problems.
Supervisor Kerry Jobe provided an update on the Unity Township Municipal Authority Crabtree sewage project, saying the preliminary feasibility study returned favorable cost estimates and that extending service higher in the service area did not increase per‑connection costs materially. Jobe said Morris Knowles’ invoices may increase slightly because of additional work on final design and that a PowerPoint presentation will be provided once final figures are available. Jobe indicated the Moll/Crabtree option appears more cost‑effective than pursuing service through MAWC based on current feasibility numbers.
The board also placed stormwater/MS4 educational materials on the table for public review and encouraged residents to consult the materials on best practices for stormwater management.
Next steps: staff to circulate the feasibility presentation and final cost figures when available and continue to coordinate with FTMSA and Morris Knowles on design and costs.
