Trustees address nuisance properties, introduce abatement resolution for Robin Avenue lot

Administrator Lori Kyle introduced a resolution (224‑4723) that would certify abatement expenses for the cleanup performed at 2231 Robin Avenue and forward the expense to the county auditor for assessment. She said staff secured two bids for the cleanup and that the abatement process allows the township to recoup costs by assessment at the county level.

Trustees also reviewed several zoning/ordinance enforcement cases that were turned over to the Butler County prosecutor's office (properties at 2221 Timberman, 2187 Cardinal, 3299 Cincinnati Brookville and 2307 Cardinal). A separate, long‑standing nuisance property (the so‑called "red house") was discussed at length; trustees said they had contacted Butler County development and the health district for assessment, noted prior inspections found no immediate structural hazard, and said staff would follow up if evidence of occupancy or increased hazard appears.

Staff recommended following county guidance on next steps and noted options include pursuing court orders for vagrancy or using the statutory abatement process to repair or remove hazards and charge costs to the property owner.
