Milford Drive reconstruction set to begin April 27; property-owner meetings scheduled

Village Engineer Daniel Collins told council members on April 8 that the Milford Drive Reconstruction Project will move into pre-construction next week. A pre-construction meeting is scheduled for April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ledge Road office, and Collins said the contractor and staff plan to meet with nine to ten property owners about trees and landscaping that will need to be removed for sidewalk installation.
Collins said construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 27, and the contract deadline runs to the end of October; he said the project is expected to be complete in late August or September. The village has notified the school district’s bus coordinator and the trash-hauling contractor about the schedule to coordinate service and routing during construction.
Councilmember Alan Hipps asked whether the village will update its road condition survey and priorities in light of differing degradation rates; Collins said an updated road-condition survey is expected next spring and that North Plaza Drive is next on the reconstruction list.
The council did not take action on the project at this meeting; Collins’s remarks were presented as a staff update.
