Code enforcement officer reports development activity; larger project stalled pending water and fire-suppression solutions

Mark, the town's planning/code staff member, briefed the board on recent activity and announced he will attend the building officials federation conference. He then summarized outstanding issues on a larger development project that remain unresolved.

"Still trying to figure out about the water supply," Mark said, noting the development team is evaluating options such as moving wells, installing cisterns, or alternative sprinkler arrangements to meet fire-suppression requirements. He said there may be opportunities to partner with another agency to bring service closer, or to extend service through other means, but that the specifics remain under review.

Board members asked whether available pressure and volume meet fire-suppression standards; Mark said that remains an open engineering question. No formal action was taken; the update was informational and the board encouraged staff to continue investigation and report back.

Mark also noted he will be out of the office to attend the conference and that several ICC instructors will be present at the event.
