During public comment at the Jan. 15, 2026 Hayden Planning Commission meeting, two residents raised concerns about local housing proposals.
Dana Haskins of 575 West Washington spoke against the Uplift Apartments decision, saying a residents’ petition opposed the development and arguing that relying on staff review and earlier requested revisions (noted by Haskins as about 18 months prior) did not, in her view, justify approval. Haskins said she believes "the Planning Commission is not listening to town residents."
Commissioner Ben Robbins responded that the Commission had not identified any findings of fact under the Town’s Development Code that would allow denial and that the developer may proceed if the project complies with code; Robbins acknowledged aesthetic concerns but said they did not amount to code-based reasons for denial.
Linda Signs (39010 County Road 53) asked about the status of the Moonlit Meadows application. Deputy Town Manager Tegan Ebbert said the applicant is continuing to address comments from the public and the Colorado Department of Transportation, is conducting traffic studies, and has not yet submitted an updated application; Ebbert said the public will be notified when a resubmittal is received.
No votes or final actions were recorded on either housing project during the meeting. The submissions remain under review and will return to the public notice process when updated materials are filed.
