At the Sept. 11, 2024 meeting of the Guffey Community Charter School Board, Kelli Maguire reported on community linkage activities, emphasizing volunteer support and recent donations.
Maguire said volunteers are lined up to support P.E., robotics, sewing, science and middle school math and that the school has a group of qualified substitutes ready for the school year. She reported a fire drill was scheduled for the day after the meeting and noted two upcoming clean-up efforts: a school community clean-up on Sept. 19 and a whole-community clean-up of CR 102 on Saturday (date not specified in minutes).
Faith Lutheran Church in Woodland Park made substantial donations to the school’s backpack program, Maguire said. The minutes further recorded that the Preschool Playgroup continues each week with two to seven parents and children attending, and that a sink was donated and installed in the art room.
These updates reflect community engagement and in-kind support that the board considered informational during its regular meeting.
