Guffey Community Charter School board approves routine items, acknowledges monitoring report

The Guffey Community Charter School Board met Sept. 11, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. and approved routine governance items, including the meeting agenda, the minutes of the Aug. 14 regular meeting and the consent agenda. Each motion passed with a recorded vote of 5 ayes.
Board members moved and seconded the routine approvals: Amy Owen moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Dean Wilson; Chris Peterson moved to approve the August 14 minutes, seconded by Lawrence Epps; and Amy Owen moved, with Lawrence Epps seconding, to approve the consent agenda. Each motion passed with five affirmative votes.
The board also acknowledged receipt of the Administrator monitoring report that covered items labeled E-3, EL-13 and EL-16. Amy Owen moved to acknowledge the monitoring report and Dean Wilson seconded; the board recorded 5 ayes to acknowledge the report. The acknowledgement reflects the board’s regular oversight step to note receipt rather than adoption of new policy.
During the meeting the board confirmed it had reviewed governance policies GP-1, GP-2, GP-3, GP-4 and GP-14 as part of its self-monitoring process.
The meeting was called to order by Secretary of the Board Beth Hall and adjourned following a motion by Dean Wilson and a second from Amy Owen; the meeting ended at 6:03 p.m.
