On May 18, 2026 the Otsego Planning Commission voted 6-0 to recommend City Council approve amendments to the City Code and Zoning Ordinance addressing animal kennels, accessory buildings, fences and signs.
City Planner Daniel Licht presented the staff report. During commission discussion, Commissioner Tracy Kincanon asked whether chickens would fall under a kennel permit; Planner Licht responded they do not and that a separate fowl license is required.
Commissioner Aaron Stritesky moved to recommend Council approve the ordinance amendments as presented; Commissioner Tracy Kincanon seconded. The motion carried unanimously, 6-0. The commission’s recommendation will be included in the council packet for final action.
