The Shopping Area Redevelopment Board voted unanimously on Nov. 13 to approve three new signs for El Rancho at 17 E. Main following a brief public hearing.
Miguel Gonzales of D‑Sign, representing El Rancho, described the application as three internally lit channel-letter signs mounted on a single raceway to reduce the number of penetrations in the building façade. Gonzales said the phrase “Grill and Bar” would appear in an illuminated capsule beneath the El Rancho name and that the proposed installation meets the City Community Development office's zoning requirements.
Board members Laura Gentry and Eric Barnes signaled their support during the hearing. Eric Barnes moved to close the public hearing, a motion supported by Mayor Klynstra; Barnes then moved to approve the signage as presented, a motion supported by Gentry. All present voted aye and the motions carried.
The board's approval authorizes the applicant to proceed with the sign installation under the city’s permitting and zoning process. No conditions or amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes.
