The City of Hallsville council approved the February 2025 consent agenda during a brief regular meeting at Hallsville City Hall on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Mayor Jesse Casey called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., and the session concluded with adjournment at 6:06 p.m.
The consent agenda presented by Mayor Jesse Casey included the City Administrator’s Report for February 2025; the Police Department Summary and Fire Marshal Report for February 2025; the Water Department Summary for February 2025; the Permit Report for February 2025; monthly financial statements for February 2025; and the minutes of the February 18, 2025 regular meeting. Mayor Pro-Tem Gary Lovelace moved to approve the consent agenda “as presented,” and Alderman Charlie Hunt seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
The council noted procedurally that executive session items are handled in closed session under the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Government Code Sections 551.001–551.071) and that any action must be taken in open session; cited purposes include consultation with attorney (Section 551.071), personnel matters (Section 551.074) and real estate transactions (Section 551.072).
