Jourdanton council approves Feb. 17 minutes; shares community calendar

The Jourdanton City Council voted unanimously on March 2 to approve the minutes of its Feb. 17 regular meeting. Councilmember Raul Morales moved to approve the minutes and Councilmember Karen Pesek seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Members used the remainder of the meeting to share community events and reminders. Mayor Robert Williams announced Jourdanton Little League Opening Day on March 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Councilmember Katrina Wiatrek reported the varsity girls' basketball team is advancing to state and will play the next day at 6:00 p.m., noted upcoming track meets and said the baseball team has begun practice. Mayor Pro Tem Chester Gonzales announced a blood drive March 22 at St. Matthews Church from 8 a.m. to noon and reminded attendees of Fish Fry events every Friday in March. Councilmember Pamela Manning reminded the council of a goal-setting workshop on March 23 from 6–7 p.m. and the 'Beautiful You Project' at the American Legion on March 4 from 5:30–7 p.m.
Councilmember Raul Morales also noted there were chances of rain beginning Friday and encouraged residents to pray for rain. At the meeting's close Morales moved to adjourn, Councilmember Pesek seconded, and Mayor Robert Williams adjourned the meeting at 6:47 p.m.
No other formal votes or ordinances were taken at the March 2 meeting.
