Officials noted that the state’s per-pupil funding decision will influence final figures and is typically known by October.
Trustees discussed broader funding context for special-education services: the board reviewed a proposed COP (cooperative) special-education millage that will appear on the November ballot for the cooperative and whose proceeds are distributed to member districts. Board members said Gaylord, as the largest district in the cooperative, expects to receive the majority of those dollars if voters approve the millage.
The board also received a staff explanation of recent budget drivers and minor adjustments; no member sought additional amendments before the votes. Both the amended 2025–26 resolution and the 2026–27 preliminary budget passed by voice vote, recorded as 7–0.
