Blue Hill Select Board reappoints county planners, schedules vending hearing and authorizes account transfers

The Town of Blue Hill Select Board handled a series of routine administrative items at its May 11 meeting, including reappointments to the Hancock County Planning Commission, scheduling a public hearing for a mobile vending permit, and authorizing transfers from four town money market accounts.
Members voted 4-0 to reappoint Julia Zell and Elise Schellhase to the county planning commission and to name B. Adams as an alternate. The board also voted 4-0 to schedule Hearth and Soul’s annual mobile vending permit hearing for May 18, 2026, at 5:45 PM and instructed A. Woog to post a public notice in the Weekly Packet.
J. Ross, representing the Toddy Pond Association, presented a $500 donation to J. Chapman for the fire departments of the four surrounding towns. The board approved a supplemental tax assessment of $349.53 on parcel 029-092 (vote 4-0). On financial management, S. Miller proposed closing four underperforming money market accounts and transferring those funds to the town’s general operating account; the board authorized M. Cousins to close the accounts and make the transfers (vote 4-0).
Other items: the board authorized Chair E. Best to sign the Shaw Institute’s reflectorized sign application; discussed a Code Enforcement Officer candidate who may move to the area; and heard that Blue Hill advanced to the second round for Congressionally Directed Spending from Senator Collins’ office. The board adjourned 4-0 at 6:59 PM after signing disbursement warrants.
