Residents raise safety concerns at Blue Hill traffic circle; board discusses signage, Little League insurance and missing nonprofit funding

The board tabled consideration of a mobile vending permit application for a vendor identified as "Blue Chill" until the owner is available to attend a meeting.
On youth sports, M. Cousins asked that the town be added as an additional insured on the Little League’s liability policy and provided a screenshot of coverage. The board agreed to obtain formal verification from the insurance agency; the minutes note that the board discussed whether food concession activities are covered and that S. Miller suggested a "TULIP" policy might extend event coverage if necessary. The clerk was asked to follow up with the insurance provider for written confirmation.
Other operational items included confirmation of new Town Office hours (Mondays 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; closed Wednesdays) and a decision not to reduce poll hours for the 2027 Town Meeting. S. Miller reported that a non-profit funding request had been omitted from the Town Meeting warrant; he recommended waiting to ensure no other discrepancies and, if appropriate, funding the request from the board’s unexpected expenditures reserve.
The board received notice of a bankruptcy filing by Downeast Community Partners and will investigate potential creditor claims.
