The Town of Blue Hill Select Board on March 30 voted unanimously to submit a T‑Mobile grant application to improve the town skating rink and to authorize a 2025 audit engagement with RHR Smith.
Select Board member Amanda Woog introduced the skating‑rink grant materials compiled with volunteers from the Peninsula Skating Association — Alex Drenga, Emily Cushman and River Plouffe Vogel — describing plans to level the rink, improve infrastructure and procure communal skating equipment and materials. The Board voted 5–0 to approve submission of the T‑Mobile grant application.
M. Cousins presented an engagement letter from RHR Smith for the town's 2025 audit and said the firm will charge slightly more than in prior years. The Board voted 5–0 to authorize Select Board member S. Miller or M. Cousins to sign the engagement letter on the Town's behalf.
Votes at a glance: The Board recorded several unanimous votes during the meeting: approval of the minutes for March 16 and March 23, 2026; authorization to submit the T‑Mobile skating‑rink grant; authorization to sign the RHR Smith 2025 audit engagement letter; appointment of ballot clerks for the April 3–4 Town Meeting; and appointment of J. Town Clerk D. Goettler presented the nominations for ballot clerks and the Board voted 5–0 to appoint them for the April 3 and 4 Town Meeting. The Board also agreed by vote to appoint J. Wootten as Shellfish Warden on a temporary basis until a long‑term warden can be found.
The meeting adjourned at 6:44 p.m.; the Board also signed disbursement warrants following adjournment.
