The Williamson Community Schools Board of Education voted Tuesday to hire two middle-school staff members for the 2026–27 school year: Alexis Ragnon as the Williamston Middle School social worker and Stephanie Chandel as the assistant principal and athletic director.
Superintendent Adam Subinowski introduced both candidates and recommended the board approve their employment, citing Ragnon’s graduate-level social-work internship experience across multiple school settings and her work on special-education evaluations and IEP goals. Subinowski highlighted Chandel’s 22 years of middle-school teaching (18 at Haslett Middle School), leadership roles and coaching background.
A motion by board member Chris to hire Ragnon was seconded by Heather and carried after one opposing voice was recorded. After the vote, Ragnon addressed the board: “Thank you for the opportunity. I’m really excited to start at the Williamson School District.”
The board then moved to hire Chandel; that motion, also moved by Chris and seconded by Heather, passed with one opposing voice recorded. Chandel told the board she was “very excited” and “can’t wait to get started.”
Both hires were welcomed and congratulated by board members. The board recorded the formal motions and carried both actions within the meeting’s action items.
