The Planning Commission had recommended approval after one initial objection was withdrawn.
Rok and Councilman Ellis clarified that the rezoning request for the same lots (from single-family residential to private recreational) is a separate process expected to continue through January: the Planning Commission will first review completeness, then a 30-day public-notice period will follow before a recommendation to the council. Ellis noted the deed transferring the land to the homeowners association specified recreational use, and surveyor Karl Scherbel characterized the rezoning as 'catching up of paperwork.' Rok said the town’s ordinances already grandfather these lots as private recreational despite the single-family residential zoning.
Next steps: The council will consider the plat amendment during the evening meeting; the rezoning application will proceed with Planning Commission completeness review and public notice before returning to council for action.
