Operations committee to send 8% project options to full board after no committee recommendation

Chair (S2) explained that operations prepared three options at the request of the committee and that the member who requested the item was not present. "They came forward 3 options... Maybe Missus Sebenin, you would know that, do we need to have a vote from the committee to move forward to the full board?" S2 asked. The staff response was that, without a committee recommendation, the full board can vote.
Committee members agreed to add the item to the next board meeting agenda and for staff to provide an executive summary for members who cannot attend. Committee member (S9) urged a change in how these 8% projects are presented going forward: "No one's doing it like this... This format is not going to be successful going forward," S9 said, recommending that future presentations group projects by category (roofs, HVAC, school-level breakouts) and tie them to budget categories.
Why it matters: the method for presenting and approving small-dollar, numerous projects affects how quickly maintenance needs are funded and how efficiently the board can approve them. Several members recommended a work session to reformat future presentations and improve decision-making.
