The Marion County Board of Commissioners on May 4 approved a consent agenda that included the formal appointment of Sue Bloom to the Marion County Children and Families Commission and several procurement and contract actions, the board said.
Sue Bloom, who has been appointed to the Marion County Children and Families Commission and was recently named director of the Boys and Girls Club, was noted by the board during public comment; the minutes record she said the Boys and Girls Club serves about 10,000 children in the community annually and roughly 600 children per day across Marion and Polk counties.
The consent agenda approved by the three commissioners included: an order appointing Bloom to a term ending Jan. 31, 2018; approval of a proposed list of tax-foreclosed real property to be sold at public auction on June 23, 2016; Amendment #5 to the contract for services with Salem Hospital extending the contract through May 30, 2016 and adding $6,554.52 in funding; and an order setting a public hearing to consider the Ambulance Service Area administrator’s recommendation regarding transfer of ASA #7 on May 18, 2016.
The board also approved a Purchase Order under State Price Agreement #2590 with SHI International Corporation for $960,771.57 for Oracle software licenses and support maintenance through May 31, 2021, and the public works item scheduling a public hearing for Zone Change/Comprehensive Plan Case #15-001 (Coastal Forest Products, LLC; Clerk’s file #5704) for May 18, 2016. Commissioner Sam Brentano moved to add the ZC/CP hearing to the consent calendar; Commissioner Janet Carlson seconded, and the motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
The board recessed for Contract Review Board business and later reconvened and adjourned at 9:24 a.m. The weekly calendar was read before adjournment.
The minutes list Commissioner Kevin Cameron, Commissioner Sam Brentano and Commissioner Janet Carlson as present, with John Lattimer as chief administrative officer, Gloria Roy as county counsel and Kristy Witherell as recorder.
