Marion County commissioners adopt ordinance approving White zone change with conditions

The Marion County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 20 unanimously adopted an administrative ordinance approving a zone change and comprehensive plan amendment known as ZC/CP 15-002/White, moving the property’s designation from single-family residential to commercial office.
The decision follows a hearings officer recommendation and a prior public hearing in which the board approved the request subject to several conditions. Joe Fennimore of Public Works summarized the staff recommendation and the conditions the board imposed: dedication of necessary right-of-way, submission of a site plan showing parking and traffic circulation, a lighting plan, and screening of trash receptacle areas from adjacent residential properties and public streets.
Commissioner Sam Brentano moved adoption of the ordinance; Commissioner Kevin Cameron seconded. With both commissioners present and voting, the motion carried by voice vote.
The ordinance approval authorizes the rezoning and comp-plan adjustment but requires the applicant to meet the listed conditions before the county issues related permits. The board did not record detailed amendments to the conditions during the meeting.
The board had no public hearings scheduled at 9:30 a.m. and adjourned at 9:28 a.m.
