SEDCOR reports manufacturing gains, business retention and internship partnerships to Marion County commissioners

Chad Freeman, Nick Harville and Andy Gardner said the Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) program continues to generate jobs primarily from existing companies and that the local economy faces constraints from business inventory and limited available buildings. They highlighted partnerships with employers such as NORPAC Foods and Emery and Sons Construction and described internship pathways being developed with North Santiam School District and Stayton High School, including interest from Freres Lumber in mill internships.
Commissioners thanked SEDCOR for hosting the State of the County event and discussed the value of partnerships between industry and education. No board action was requested on the report.
