Hoehne School Board unanimously approves hires, policy updates and yearbook cover

Board President Brad Blasi called the Hoehne Reorganized School District No. 3 Board of Education meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2025. After roll call showed five members present, the board approved an amendment to the agenda to add Action Item 8 and then took up a series of personnel and policy matters.
The board approved three personnel recommendations on motions made and seconded from the board floor: the hiring of the junior high boys basketball coach, approval of an athletic volunteer, and hiring a food‑service substitute. Each motion passed unanimously. Board Member Torrey Walters moved the first two employment actions; Board Member Todd Arnhold moved others; all motions received seconders and unanimous roll‑call approval.
More substantively for district governance, the board approved the third and final reading of Policy ACA (Name Changes) and a broad package of policy revisions recommended by the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) special policy update from February 2025. The policy package included updates and revisions across nondiscrimination and harassment procedures, staff recruiting/hiring, admission and open‑enrollment rules, bullying prevention forms and related investigative procedures, and other policies listed in the meeting materials. The board also approved first readings to adopt JFBA (Intra‑District Choice/Open Enrollment) and JII (Student Concerns, Complaints, and Grievances) as recommended by CASB.
Finally, the board approved the 2025–2026 Hoehne School yearbook cover as presented by administration. All formal motions reported in the minutes were adopted unanimously; five board members voted yes on each recorded motion, with two members absent.
What happens next: First readings (JFBA and JII) will return for subsequent consideration in accordance with board policy; the district will proceed with onboarding for the approved hires and process the adopted policy changes according to regular implementation procedures.
