Bloomville police report grant-funded gear, stepped nuisance enforcement and possible part-time hires

Staff are continuing zoning and nuisance-property enforcement focused on litter, weeds, junk vehicles and parking concerns; several properties have been served notices and enforcement actions are ongoing. To bolster coverage for weekends and special events — including the Farmers Market, Memorial Day observances and the upcoming Bike Rally — Dyer said the department is considering hiring additional part-time officers and is coordinating coverage with neighboring agencies.
No formal hiring action or new budget appropriation was recorded at the meeting; Dyer’s remarks indicate staff is preparing options for future consideration.
