Allamakee County approves three final subdivision plats, waiving performance bond requirement

The Allamakee County Board of Supervisors on April 27 approved three resolutions accepting final subdivision plats for properties in the county and waived the requirement for a performance bond for improvements and installations in each case.

The board adopted Resolution 26.171 for the Virginia M Moore Revocable Trust, Resolution 26.172 for Ruth H. and Randy Vine, and Resolution 26.173 for Sweeney Land Holdings, LLC. Each resolution states the plat conforms to the county’s comprehensive plan and references approval pursuant to Chapter 354 of the Code of Iowa and the county’s subdivision ordinances (Chapter 7 of the county ordinances). The board authorized the Chair to certify copies of the resolutions and plats for recording with the County Recorder and County Auditor.

The resolutions describe the legal land descriptions for each subdivision and explicitly note that the board waived the county’s usual requirement for a performance bond to secure improvements and installations. For Resolution 26.171 the minutes record a roll call: Keatley—aye; Byrnes—aye; Clark—absent. Resolution 26.172 likewise records Keatley—aye; Byrnes—aye; Clark—absent. Resolution 26.173 was approved and recorded as "motion carried" in the minutes; no roll-call detail is printed for that motion beyond the attendance notation.

The minutes do not record substantive debate or public comment on the plats; each motion to accept the final plat was presented and approved during the meeting. The board’s authorization empowers the Chair to file the certified resolutions with the county recorder so the plats may be recorded as official documents.

The approvals complete the county’s review and allow the plats to be recorded per the procedures cited in the resolutions.
