Shape award presented to Bremen responders; conservation committee asks for invasive-plant display and dog-waste station

At the April 3 meeting Steve Greeley of the Maine Department of Labor presented Shape awards to the Bremen Fire Department and Bremen First Responders. Ann Nesslage of the BCC requested a Town Center table to display invasive plants and asked the board to place a dog-waste container with bags at the Hilton O'Connor site; the board also reviewed annual report cover options and will decide April 17.
Steve Greeley of the Maine Department of Labor read the Shape award definition and presented the award to the Bremen Fire Department and to Bremen First Responders, with congratulations to both departments for achieving the status.
Ann Nesslage of the BCC reported on the committee's ongoing work flagging invasive plants and asked the board for a table at the Town Center where the BCC could display information about different invasive species. Nesslage also requested that the town provide a dog-waste container with bags at the Hilton O'Connor site similar to the provision at the Hay Property.
Selectmen reviewed three design options for the town's annual report cover and invited residents to submit suggestions by email or mail; the board will make a final decision at its April 17 meeting.
The meeting's public-attendance list included town staff and community members. The minutes record that the board approved several warrants and minutes and handled routine administrative business before adjourning at 5:18 p.m.
