Sinton awards Phase 1 wastewater improvements contract to T-Construction for $473,654.40

The Sinton City Council voted April 21 to award the Phase 1 Wastewater Improvements Project (GLO MIT MOD Contract No. 24-065-110-E923) to T-Construction for the low bid of $473,654.40.
City Manager John Hobson explained the project will rehav eight manholes, perform a pipe-burst replacement of about 1,706 linear feet of wastewater line, and include full-depth pavement repair. Additional work on Villarreal Street will rehave existing manholes and reroute a force main to 4th Street to remove Colonia flow from the line directed to Pirate Boulevard, which Hobson said will help relieve capacity issues.
Six bids were received and the low bidder, T-Construction, was selected. Councilmember Nathan Lindeman moved to award the bid and Mayor Pro Tem Greg Ybarra seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
Why it matters: the work is intended to address capacity and integrity issues in key sewer lines and should reduce overloads at Pirate Boulevard. The contract is funded through a GLO mitigation modification grant administered through the COG.
What’s next: T-Construction will schedule mobilization and notify city public works of traffic and repair impacts; city staff will oversee contract compliance and grant reporting.
